General Update
Figured I’d post a little update from my first post. So…
Games
Into the Sky - Is finished! Completely! All the audio was implementing in XACT which was… fun. Video example here: https://vimeo.com/42003489
Reboot - Is also finished. At least to the alpha stage. Used FMOD for this which was actually quite interesting to pick up. No video though.
Beggar Beats Baby - This was part of the Molyjam Game Jam that happened in April. Was a pretty enjoyable and laid back experience overall, and I suppose I needed to so something 8-bit sounding at some point! You can play it here: http://www.whatwouldmolydeux.com/display.php?GameID=254
Split - Is on hold while the rest of the team finish up coursework
I also helped with one of the 3rd year programmer’s sound based game, and even though there’s no visual element I’ll try to at least get some showcase for it.
As for future projects I have 2 games that I’m about to start work on, one with XACT and the other in Unity, and hopefully a few more in the pipeline with other from Abertay. Keeping busy at least!
Original Animation
Outgast - Still waiting on the video file…
Rescores
Dip Dap - Got replaced with
Possession
for my uni work as I couldn’t get the video file to work in any DAW. Even tried converting iDipdap to a few different things but no joy. Still, it turned out alright even if I wasn’t able to spend that much time on it. Clip here: https://vimeo.com/42003488
ScaryGirl - Is probably next on the list depending on when the games start.
So there we go! I’m hoping to get a few projects on the go over Summer, so if you’re looking for audio for games, film or animation send me a message on here or contact me directly at jrgcross (at) gmail (dot) com.
